Italian Tournament  in Groups 

Formation of playing groups in the first round

The following groups are formed with a random seeding:

                3-player groups: 2 playing matches;

                4-player groups: 3 playing matches;

                5-player groups: 4 playing matches.

Matches played in the first round

A round robin tournament is played in each group: all players play with each other two, three or four matches, depending on a fixed tournament format. The sum of victory points is scored for all matches played by each player.

Formation of playing groups in the second round

The players are seeding according to their results (sum of victory points) gained by the first round.

The  seeding procedures,  that using these first round results, are  follow:

-          equal gap (distance) between the place numbers of players in one group or

-          equal sum of their place numbers in one group.

Matches played in the second round

A round tournament is played in each group: all players play with each other two, three or four matches, depending on a fixed tournament format. The victory points sum is scored for all matches played by each player.

 Formation of groups for a last round

Sum result for each tournament participant according to his or her received victory points in the first and second rounds is scored. The sum obtained is halved and basing on these half-results the tournament participants are divided into two groups:

- main tournament;

- consolation tournament.

The last tour is played: three matches according to the Italian system for both groups.

The main tournament winner and prize winners, the consolation tournament winner and second prize winner are determined.
